On December 11, 2024, the 2024 Hubei Law Education International Forum, with the theme of "Paths and Innovations in the Cultivation of Foreign-related Legal Talents in the New Era", was held at the Wuhan Institute of Technology. Leaders, experts, and scholars from the Supreme People's Court, Peking University, the University of Technology Sydney in Australia, and other institutions, as well as leaders of law schools from various universities in Hubei Province, gathered together to jointly discuss the reform and innovation ideas and practical measures for the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents.

Professor Liu Jieming, the dean of the School of Law and Sociology, and Associate Professor Meng Qixun, the director of the Professional Master's Center, were invited to attend the conference. In the third stage，the "Dean's Forum", Dean Liu Jieming gave a presentation titled "Exploration on the Cultivation of Compound Foreign-related Legal (Intellectual Property) Talents in the New Era". He mainly introduced the practices of cultivating compound foreign-related intellectual property talents in our school and proposed taking the Wuhan International Intellectual Property Institute as a starting point to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents. After the meeting, Dean Liu Jieming also had in-depth exchanges with Professor Anita Stuhmcke, the dean of the Law School of the University of Technology Sydney, Colin Hawes, the chairman of the International Cooperation Committee of the University of Technology Sydney, and Peter Corne, a mediator certified by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in London, regarding the cooperation in the cultivation of foreign-related intellectual property talents.

Through this forum, the external exchanges and cooperation of relevant majors in our school have been further strengthened. The teaching and research achievements, cultivation experiences, and innovative measures of outstanding legal talents in our school have been widely publicizes. In the future, our school will strive to cultivate more foreign-related legal talents who have firm political stances, excellent professional qualities, a good understanding of international rules, and proficiency in foreign-related legal practices.
